Speaking about her new EP, Etta says, “‘Devour’ feels like a coming-of-age moment in its truest sense. It harnesses anger as an energy but makes space for love.”
Writing the perspective-shifting Devour EP over several trips to Whitstable during its winter off-season, Etta brought in heavier, punk influences born of the rawness and rough edges that these gnarlier topics required. Having grown up listening to Nirvana and Radiohead, with more recent artists like Fontaines DC and PJ Harvey also on heavy rotation, Etta started allowing herself to embrace a more “dangerous” side to her tastes. The resulting EP captures the evolution of one of the most exciting new voices to emerge in recent times.
