Leo Stannard announces the release of his new EP ‘Free Rein’, via Black Butter Records, on 6th November 2015.
Leo has spent the last few months in the studio alongside producer Rich Cooper perfecting his Black Butter Records debut. The first offering from the EP came in the form of, ‘I Need Time’, which Leo explains is ‘about taking the time out of constantly rushing around and allowing yourself to just sit and watch the world go by.’
Leo released his second EP ‘Notions’ late last year, which featured standout tracks ‘Please Don’t’ and ‘Eliza’, both blog favourites. The tiny village of Ragdale, Leicester provided the solitude for a young Leo Stannard to hone his craft and become the artist that he is today. Having been taught classical guitar since the age of 9, he’s developed his own, unique percussive style, taking hues from the likes of John Martyn, John Butler Trio and Ben Howard. His early songs and solo performances (including an incredible Alt-J cover) have racked up hundreds of thousands of views online.
